การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ เพื่อศึกษาศักยภาพของผู้สูงอายุในด้านการนำภูมิปัญญาการนวด และการประคบสมุนไพรมาใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ การถ่ายทอดภูมิปัญญาของผู้สูงอายุและแนวโน้มการนำเอาภูมิปัญญาการนวด และการประคบสมุนไพรรวมถึงเสนอแนะแนวทางในการนำความรู้ของผู้สูงอายุมาใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ในอนาคต โดยการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลปฐมภูมิ (Primary Data) จากผู้ให้มูลที่สำคัญ จำนวน 15 คน ซึ่งแบ่งเป็นกลุ่มผู้ที่เคยประกอบอาชีพหรือประกอบอาชีพเป็นหมอนวดและหมอประคบสมุนไพรจำนวน 12 คนและกลุ่มผู้ใช้บริการจำนวน 3 คนโดยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth Interview) พร้อมกับการสังเกต (Observation) แบบมีส่วนร่วมประกอบกับการศึกษาข้อมูลทุติยภูมิ (Secondary Data) ซึ่งเป็นทั้งเอกสารและงานวิจัยต่างๆที่เกี่ยวข้องในการนำเอามาวิเคราะห์ร่วมในเชิงพรรณนาในการอธิบายผลการศึกษา

The purpose of this research were to study the opinion of the potential elderly in the wisdom, massage and a hot compress herbs used for the benefit of the elderly and the trend of broadcast wisdom wisdom of a massage and take a hot compress herbs including recommendations to bring the knowledge of the elderly in the future. Information collected by Primary Data from the main credits, 15 of which can be divided into a number of groups who have an occupation or profession as a doctor and a doctor massage to be sponged with herbs of the 12 people who use the service and the group of people using the method of 3 in-depth interviews with the observed is a part of the study secondary data, which is both documents and research relating to the analysis and brought it together in describing the result of the study.
