This research aimed to: (1) examine the theoretical development framework variables, i.e. the ways of life, health communication, health media literacy, and the development of female senior persons’ life quality, and (2) analyze the factors’ path model associated with the ways of life, health communication and media literacy influenced on the development of female senior persons’ life quality. The samples were 394 of female senior persons in Chanthaburi province, selected by multi-stage random sampling. The data were collected through workshops and a questionnaire was employed as a research instrument consisted of 4 parts (i.e. the ways of life scale, health communication scale, media literacy scale, and life quality scale). Statistical data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation--S.D., and Path model analysis.
The research findings indicated that: (1) Eight parts of the ways of life, the most important theme was sport and recreation, followed by education and socialization, economic, family, arts, belief and religion, and communication. (2) For the four elements of health communication aspect, the most important elements was health message or content, followed by health source or sender, health receiver, and health channel of media. (3) Focusing on health media literacy view, the most important mass media was health trustworthy celebrity and the second most important mass media was the selected of health communication media exposure. And (4) In regard to six parts of female senior persons’ life quality, the results showed physical, cognitive, affective, social function, economic, and self-esteem were not the obstacle in life. (5) The result of Path model analysis revealed that factors model affecting the female senior persons’ life quality was accordance with empirical data processing (2 = 0.218, df = 2 , 2/df = .109, P-value = 0.000, GFI = .923, AGFI = -.383, CFI = .262, TLI = -1.214, RMSEA = .065, RMR = .364), which accepted the hypothesis that: (5.1) Ways of life, and health communication directly influenced on health media literacy and female senior persons’ life quality. (5.2) Health media literacy directly influenced on female senior persons’ life quality. All variables were enable explained the variance of female senior persons’ life quality in Chanthaburi province at 74%.
